How did it all Start?
My earliest recollection of singing as a child, my dad would stand me on the alter bench in front of our small congregation, to sing a special. I was around three. As my voice began to steady, my dad taught me, my brothers and sisters to sing harmony. At the age of twelve, my family recorded our first album, " If God Walks With Me". My sister began to write more songs, so soon we recorded again. I wrote my first song at the age of seventeen. Through the years, as one sibling married, another one took their place singing. Eventually, the family group became a trio. In 1978, I married my wife, Vickie, who along with my dad and I, recorded ,"God Will Make This Trial A Blessing", which would become our signature song. In 1990, my wife and I, along with Lisa Garrett Thompson, became The Terry Tidwell Trio. Today, we continue the Ministry with our sons.

How Many Songs have you Written, and what are your most popular songs?
I have completed approximately sixty-five songs, and I am presently working on several for a new project. Our most recognized songs would be: "God Will Make This Trial A Blessing" , "There is A Land", "He Keeps Leading Me On", " There's Power in Prayer", and " The Rising of the Son".

How long have you Played the Piano?
I started playing at sixteen years old.

What Writers and Artists have Influenced you the Most?
Dottie Rambo, Rusty Goodman, and Lanny Wolfe are writers that I admire the most. They seem to say what the spirit is saying. Of course, the Rambos, The Goodmans, The McKameys and The Hemphills are artists that have touched me the most.

What is Your Favorite Scripture?
For Here We have No Continuing City, But we seek one to come..…Hebrews 13: 14.

What do you do outside of singing?
I work for Nissan Motor Manufacturing Company, and am very involved in our home church…New Life Church…Manchester, Tennessee. My wife and I enjoy spending as much time as possible with our family, and especially our adorable grandson August.
